The Red Triangle Players
The Red Triangle Players were established in 1924. Our first production “Passing of the Third Floor Back” led to over 100 major productions in the years to 2000.
The name “Red Triangle Players” originated from the fact that we were associated with the Y.M.C.A. where we met and rehearsed for many years. In 1969 when the Members purchased premises which, after much renovation and hard work by the Players became a Rehearsal Room, a Costume Wardrobe, a Committee Room and a General Meeting Room for Members to meet up and use as a Dressing Room for Workshop Productions.
Prior to 1969, the Players performances were performed at The Knightstone Theatre in Weston-super-Mare but when the rebuilt Playhouse was opened in 1969, after the original was destroyed by fire in 1965, the Players undertook a Children’s Production early in the year, a small cast play in the Spring and a large cast production in the Autumn.
For several years during the 1980/90’s the Players also regularly provided local hotels with an evening of Cabaret. They have also achieved many successes in the Avon, Bath, Highbridge and Somerset Festivals and recently hosted the Avon One Act Festival at The Blakehay Theatre in Weston-super-Mare.
This is our first venture outside Weston-super-Mare and we sincerely hope you will have a relaxing and enjoyable evening with us.
